Formal Georgian Chest of Drawers, Ebony and Satinwood Inlay
$5800
Reference #: 0422-M23
This Georgian bureau is a very fine, very early example of a classic English chest, but it has an added magical ebony and satinwood inlay pattern on the frieze and good tea caddy inlay around the top. Please look at the thumbnails for a close-up of an amazing work of marquetry, done in a formal, yet whimsical style. There is also marvelous ebony inlay on the canted quarter columns. The overall chest is in good clean condition, though given the age of the piece it is not surprising that the handles have been replaced, but in a manner true to the period. Cock beading around the drawers is in very good condition.
