A decorative walnut Tumbridgeware jewelry box. Tumbridgeware being characterized as a form of decoratively inlaid woodwork, typically in the form of boxes, that is characteristic of Tumbridge and the spa town of Royal Tumbridge Wells in Kent in the 18th and 19th centuries. This one dates from circa 1870, and has good inlay. There is no key. Nice deep blue velvet interior.
